Around the corner from the Cathédrale Notre-Dame, under the shade of a majestic tree, the Cité Bibliothèque is going to offer an open air library to browse through books, magazines and newspapers. The pop-up library will also feature a special kids’ area. Readings from local and international authors are also on the agenda, as well as several evening performances. Each week of this book-based month focuses on a different theme, from gastronomy to travel, garphic novels, mangas and ‘diversity’. Children's books are also available. In addition, the "Mai klenge Spillbuttek" sells games for youngsters, including: Flip Hop, puzzles, Up & Down, What's Up and Zock'n Roll.

 

 

Due to the sanitary crisis the following measures have to be observed

from June 15, 2021:

  • Wearing a protective mask and disinfecting your hands is mandatory
  • The library users must observe all prescribed safety and distance regulations
  • Users can once again access levels -1 and -2 and choose the documents they wish to borrow
  • A maximum of 44 users are allowed to stay in the library at the same time
  • The study rooms and the internet workstations are accessible again in accordance with the necessary social distance
  • The newspaper department is accessible again to all users (with prior disinfection of the hands)
  • After the summer holidays, small school classes (12 children) will be able to visit the library again
  • The activities for children on Saturday mornings will take place again with a maximum of 10 children and obligatory registration beforehand

 

The Cité Bibliothèque is returning to its usual opening hours: Tuesday to Friday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
